Is hemp oil the same as CBD oil? No way!

Hemp seed oil and CBD oil are very different products.

CBD oil uses the stalks, leaves, and flowers of the hemp plant in its production. CBD oil contains cannabinoids. Fancy, valuable. But, hemp seed oil only comes from the seeds of cannabis sativa, which do not contain CBD. Think of hemp oil as cold-pressed omega-rich culinary oil. Not fancy at all.

Topical CBD products, including CBD oil, have been shown to support:

  • acne,
  • eczema,
  • psoriasis,
  • appearance of scars and
  • pain reduction.

CBD and hemp seed oil are cousins, lets say… they come from the same cannabis family. So intentionally or not, they’re often marketed as the same thing. Why would a brand do this? To cut costs of course. Wink.

CBD oil is way more valuable than hemp seed oil. Pick a hemp seed oil product, adorn it with marijuana leaves, highlight the word cannabis and boom! CBD product. But not really.

The importance of checking the ingredient list is always important.
Hemp seed oil is usually referred to as cannabis sativa seed oil. CBD, as cannabidiol, full-spectrum hemp, hemp oil, PCR (phytocannabinoid-rich) or PCR hemp extracts.
